Looking for the perfect adult acne remedy? Your search is over! Alright, let’s face it: acne is bad enough when we were teenagers, but it’s a lot worse when you’re an adult! While people are used to it with teenagers, it’s just not as common amongst adults. It is much harder to cope after the teen years, too, because you have to actually go to work with people with clear skin and be professional and confident when you might not really be. To be honest, though, there is no magical adult acne remedy that works for everyone, is fast, cheap and has no side effects. However, by improving all the little skin care habits you have, you will dramatically improve your skin and boost your confidence!

Here are some of the primary reasons adults have acne problems:

1) Stress

Stress has been proven to have a negative impact on the immune system, and this affects any bodily issues, including acne. This just makes the stressful situations worse, but there is a way around all this. Reducing stress can be a tough topic, but will work as an excellent adult acne remedy and will dramatically improve your mental and physical health, too!

2) Hormones

Hormone imbalance is more common in woman, but can affect men’s skin as well. This problem is terrible, because it can affect a woman’s skin from their early twenties through menopause. However, there are solutions to this as well, including the following proven adult acne remedy:

3) Vitamins

Many studies have shown that acne can be related to a vitamin-deficiency in the body. By adding Vitamin A, B5, C, D and/or E supplements to your diet, you can greatly reduce the hormonal and vitamin imbalances that result in frequent outbreaks. While this isn’t typically its own adult acne remedy, this will serve to prevent future breakouts in many people, and can be a great weapon to add to your acne-fighting arsenal.

4) Diet

While it has been proven that diet does not have the direct impact experts once thought, there is still a great way to reduce your acne by changing your diet, all the while improving your overall health. When you eat refined sugars and carbohydrates, caffeine and fatty foods, your digestive system has trouble breaking them down. The wastes from these foods build up in your digestive system, and cause skin problems from within.

On the other side of things, there are good foods that help your cause like apples, grapes, vegetables and green tea. Adjusting diet has been brushed aside as an effective adult acne remedy as of late, but it can still have incredible effects when done right.

5) General Care

This is obviously a broad category, but it breaks down like this: Oil, Sun, Washing, Extras.

- Oil needs to be a part of your skin, but in the right amounts. Moisturize if your skin is dry (with Oil-free lotion) and avoid oily foods and touching your face if your skin is oily.

- As for the Sun, about 10-15 minutes of direct sunlight per day is universally accepted as good for you. However, if you plan on being outside longer than this, apply oil-free SPF 15+ lotion before going out.

- Washing is simple: rinse with lukewarm water, scrub lightly in circular motions, rinse with cool water. As for the extras: use a facial mask occasionally, exfoliate and maybe even use a facial peel or microdermabrasion.

All of these adult acne remedies are pretty simple by themselves, but the key is acting on all of them at once. Any people swear by herbal remedies as well. The best all-natural remedies for adult acne are water, green tea, vitamin supplements, castor oil, red clove, aloe vera and tea tree oil. By developing the habits that will help, and eliminating the habits that hurt one at a time, you will greatly improve not only your skin, but your life!

Most people in their lifetime are affected by acne at some time. An overproduction of oil and cells usually occurs during puberty, for women before a menstrual cycle and during menopause. Depending on the severity of the acne, the reaction to the medicine prescribed and the progress made in the treating of the symptoms, you may want to consider Light Therapy or Acne Laser Treatment. Some of the treatments you may want to discuss with a dermatologist and investigate are Light Therapy, Laser Therapy, Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), Laser Therapy and Chemical Peels.

Light Therapy – FDA has approved blue-light therapy for treating acne. Blue-light therapy is widely advertised and is probably the best-known of the light therapy for acne. It works by killing the acne-causing bacteria, and is used to treat inflammatory acne that will not respond to other acne therapies. The blue-light products of today do not contain ultraviolet (UV) light. UV light can damage skin and is no longer used. Blue-light therapy is usually prescribed in eight sessions and given over a four-week period. Each session can last about 15 minutes. Side effects can be mild and include short term pigment changes, swelling of treated areas, and dryness.

Pulsed Light Therapy – FDA approved for acne treatment, it combines pulses of green-yellow light and heat to treat mild to moderate acne, including inflammatory acne. The pulsed light and heat energy destroys acne and shrinks sebaceous glands, decreasing oil production. One of the main attractions of Pulsed Light Therapy is that these acne treatments cause little or no downtime and few side effects.

Diode Laser – Diode Lasers are designed to reach the sebaceous glands in the dermis, concentrating on this thick middle layer of skin, without harming the outer layer of skin. A study was performed on acne patients who were treated up to five times within a two week period. The patients acne lesions were reduced by 63%. Side effects of diode laser treatment include temporary redness and swelling of the treated areas.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) – This procedure is done with the combination of a drug that is activated by light called the photosensitizer. During this acne treatment, the hyperactive sebaceous glands are targeted. The photosensitizer is applied to the skin and is left on for a variable period of time. The skin is exposed to the light source laser light and the photosensitizer is then removed. This kills P. acnes, the bacteria responsible for acne. Side effects include pain during the procedure and discoloration afterwards.

Microdermabrasion – With this treatment, your practitioner presses a hand held device against your skin, blowing crystals to remove oils, breaking up dead skin and other imperfections. It’s like you’re polishing your skin and encouraging new skin growth. There are many materials that may be used, including aluminum oxide crystals, sodium bicarbonate crystals, diamond-tipped crystals, or salt crystals. Usually used with prescribed acne creams and gels for better penetration of the medication and increase the effectiveness.

Chemical Peel – Chemical peels have been used for a long time. Studies have shown that twice a week chemical peel treatments for 12 weeks can significantly improve acne. Under a doctor’s supervision a chemical peel of Glycolic acid or salicylic acid is applied to your skin to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, remove whiteheads and blackheads, and generate new skin growth. Chemical peel are often used with prescribed acne creams and gels for better penetration of the medication. Side effects range from temporary redness, blisters, and crusting to scarring, infection and abnormal skin coloring.

Acne laser treatment and light therapy are more options for patients to consider in acne treatment. Each case of acne treatment is evaluated differently depending on the severity of what treatments have been used in the past and the success and failures of each one. By consulting with your doctor or dermatologist about acne laser treatment you will be able to incorporate the best plan of attack.

Do Alternative Remedies for Acne Work? Type of treatment that some people find effective, so it’s worth knowing about. The treatments I’m talking about are called alternative acne treatments.

There are a variety of ways to get rid of acne that are homeopathic or natural and do not require a prescription from a dermatologist. These remedies can be used in conjunction with prescribed methods. For those who are seeking healthy and natural methods for getting rid of acne, homeopathic remedies are a viable option.

There are many treatment methods available to treat this condition, ranging from traditional medicines to acne alternative treatments that have been formulated from natural sources.

The basics for acne alternative treatments and prevention advice are:

1.Herbal Acne Remedies

Alternative medicine has come up with many solutions for acne and most of these are herbal solutions.

It’s common knowledge that the liver is the primary internal organ that clears up any troubles we may have with our hormones. If our hormones get out of equilibrium the end result is a bad case of acne.

Why Some Herbal Acne Treatments Actually Work For Acne?

The herbal blend strengthened and improved liver function; there by purifying the blood and helping to balance hormones.

It is your liver that deactivates and clears excess and used hormones from body system. And it’s also your liver’s that purifies your blood of the congesting toxins that aggravate acne so very much.

Even though they can be effective, one of the problems with herbal remedies is that they are very slow acting. While the results may be worth waiting for, it may take an entire month of consistent use before results are visible. Meanwhile, herbal acne treatments proved to be very powerful for acne sufferers, but for the short-term.

Remember that some herbal remedies have never been studied, and tested for safety and effectiveness as acne alternative treatments.

How Herbs Work in Body System?

All herbs work one of two ways or a combination of these two ways

The herb carries with it vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and a less understood “life force”. These aspects support the body nutritionally. Generally, these kinds of herbs are safe to be taken long-term. But should only be taken seasonally.

The herb has chemical components that actually throws the body out of balance. Depending on these chemical components different body systems are thrown out of balance. These herbs work short-term, and are damaging to the body system if taken in long-term. Please understand herbal acne treatments that temporarily throw your body out of balance are not a bad thing. That’s why they work. But they should never be taken long-term and will actually stop working very quickly if you do.

2. Homeopathic Remedies

The objects of homeopathic remedies for acne is to improve the skins resistance to infection. Most issues can be solved through a healthy diet and good hygiene.

Homeopathy refers to a system for treating disease based on the administration of minute doses of a drug. In massive doses, the drug is expected to produce symptoms in healthy individuals similar to those of the disease itself. Homeopathic professionals evaluate the individual (their physical, emotional and intellectual makeup) before prescribing a treatment. While homeopathy has not had the benefit of many scientific studies, professional homeopaths have found that certain homeopathic treatments reduce certain symptoms of acne.

Homeopathic remedies for acne can include medicine or nutrients that regulate hormone levels, as changing hormone levels are by far the leading cause of acne. Men and women experience the same results from changing hormonal levels even thought the amounts of each hormone are dramatically different. Homeopathic acne treatment is most often needed in the teenage years. Older people can also develop pimples, but are advised to immediately see a physician if a severe outbreak occurs.

3.Diet Remedies

There is saying “you are what you eat”

One of the simplest alternative acne treatments is to simply change your diet. Some people have had great success in reducing their acne by eating more fruit and vegetables, and less processed foods. This keeps you much healthier, and will improve your skin.

Food and nutrition is the most important factor in alternative therapy. Fat and chocolates were blamed as the basic reason for the outbreak of acne while fast foods high in grease content as well as chips, chocolate and soft drinks can cause higher episodes of acne even in an adult. Vitamins such as A, E, B, and C are also important for the skin texture and tone, also seem to be important and juice therapists advice to have fresh juice, to a reduce acne problems.

What you eat can affect your acne breakouts. It’s no doubt that good nutrition is an important factor in getting rid of your acne once and for all. Yet many people who suffer from acne don’t actually know how they can improve their diet, which will in turn improve their skin. They don’t know which types of food helps, or doesn’t help.

So eating healthier foods will help keep your skin cleaner. But that isn’t to say you can’t ever eat the fatty foods, or the carbohydrates like rice and pasta. Although these things can take longer for your body to process, which means there are more toxins in your body system, it’s fine in moderation. A few other foods to avoid are foods that contain a lot of sugar or a lot of yeast. Again, these are fine in moderation, but if you eat these foods too often, it can make your nutrition unbalanced

Another help to diets, is the addition of adequate amounts of water consumption to anyone’s diet. Why? Because water helps to flush out the poison Substances in your body system which would otherwise seek an outlet through your skin.

By drinking more water, you can keep your body clear of toxin build-up. And this will help keep your skin healthier. Drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day can be one of the acne natural treatments that can begin to detoxify the pores and skin.

Anyone looking for treatment can look online to find more suggestions and can read testimonials from those who have had success with home remedies. No one acne home treatment will work for everyone, so finding the right combination of ingredients or procedures could take time. Getting a program that fits the person’s routine and helps prevent further problems may take time and experimentation, but the results will be worth the time invested.

Keep in mind that those acne solutions that work for one person will probably not work for the next person. What worked for your mother, brother, or best friend may or may not work for you.

The basic fallacy about acne skin care that most of the people commit, is to understand the role played by the skin in the human system in isolation. God has created a total, complete and perfect machine in the form of human body and he has covered it with skin for valid reasons. When something is wrong with the parts (organs) inside, the complaint regarding their malfunctioning is reported through the skin.

The digestive organs only react to what we have given to them. Their reporting system is fair and without any blemishes. The combination of rich carbohydrates and protein in great number forces the toxins to the surface of the skin and form acne and pimples. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that if you apply some lotion or balm and in the process some pimples disappear, do not think that you have achieved something.

A host of other pimples are readying themselves for the attack on the surface of the skin, they may however change the strategy and appear on other parts of the body. Because, the royal battle is going on within, on the part of the affected body.

As a natural healing process of skin, the post inflammatory acne changes start surfacing. By adopting some medical and herbal practices you can speed up this healing process. The understanding and knowledge about the type of acne is important in the treatment of acne. Also, constant exposure to the sun can cause severe skin damage and delay the healing of your acne. Thus wear a good sunscreen and be protective to heal your acne.

Common skin problems include rashes, acne, blackheads, whiteheads, dry and oily areas, reddish-brown blotches. In acne conditions, skin care is not only its external medication, but we have to clearly understand and be conscious about the food intake- foods that aggravate the condition and foods that benefit. The former are acid producing foods. In the later category come minerals, especially iron-rich foods.

To say something about one of the ancient remedies prevalent in most of the Indian households— the juice of raw papaya, being an irritant is useful in several skin disorders, including acne. It is applied with beneficial results to swellings to prevent pus or warts and pimples formation. The juice as cosmetic, removes freckles and brown spots due to exposure to sunlight.

It is worth mentioning certain simple aspects and instructions to understand and follow a good acne treatment regime.

1. Avoid tight clothes, they are known to cause body acne by trapping sweat.

2. Use a sun-blocker by wearing a hat.

3. Dab the face dry, carefully. Do not apply pressure.

4. Use make up that do not clog the pores.

5.Think well before buying any over the counter products. Be even more careful, if they are introduced recently in the market.

Let your skin not be the experimenting ground for the product. It is better to go by the advice of the dermatologists in these matters.

Product Description
Your probably thinking whats the difference with this product? Well firstly its made By SC Johnson, a household name around the world. But Nixoderm is not from the UK and its not made for the UK market – Its made for the Nigerian, Asia and South American market (pretty much every country with a tropical climate!)

I suffer from Acne and there has been numerous occasions when I have awoken on a Saturday morning to find a spot at the end of my nose. I think you will agree not the best area to get a spot when your going out on the night!!!

But fear not wash your face and apply the Nixoderm to the problem area… One of the reasons Nixoderm is so effective compared to other products is the the way the ointment stays in contact with your skin allowing all the active ingredients to work on the skin for a period of time.

Now after 20 minutes you can actually feel this stuff working its STRONG, you’ll feel a warm sensation at the point of application (sensitive skin should dilute Nixoderm with petroleum jelly) after 2 to 4 hours that spot will be gone and your skin will look perfectly healthy. Iv never known anything like it the spot is literally dried up.

Emails and Testimonials I have received:
James Brass – Middlesbrough, UK
My cousin has chronic acne and he introduced me to Nixoderm so I bought one and I have to say Im very impressed. Thanks for the quick delivery – I will definitely have some more.

Paul Aaron – New York, USA
WOW Strong stuff -I have used countless numbers of tins now, and cant go without it, being a teenager I get spots/acne often and your Nixoderm really really helps!

Phil Norris – Tunisia
Iv been using Nixoderm for 3 to 4 years now and use it for ingrown hairs, cuts, grazes, acne, spots etc… Its so versatile and works really quickly

Signs of Acne Rosacea

Acne vulgaris is the most common form of acne and most often appears with the beginning of puberty. This type of acne is characterized by whiteheads and blackheads. Acne rosacea, on the other hand, usually makes its debut sometime after the age of 30 and before 50. Also, it is confined to the nose, cheeks, chin, forehead and eyelids. Unlike common acne, acne rosacea is not linked to overactive oil glands.

The outbreaks seen in acne rosacea consist of minute dilated blood vessels, papules and pustules. These lesions affect the color of the skin causing it to be bright red. The color may even take on a dull red or sometimes a purplish hue. At first the redness may last for just a few hours, but as the condition progresses and recurrences continue, the color persists and can become permanent.

The over-growth of the sebaceous glands, especially those on the nose, lead to thickening of the skin, and an enlargement of the nose. This bulbous nose, as it is called, is one of the best known looks so often associated with acne rosacea. Although rosacea is most commonly seen in women, men have the most severe cases and are the ones that develop the disfiguring bulbous nose, known as rhinophyma. Odd as it may seem, rhinophyma sometimes is the only sign of the condition.

Rosacea outbreaks are aggravated by different things in different people, and those afflicted with the condition soon realize what causes their inflammations to worsen and avoid those things. Some of the common stimulants are hot beverages, spicy foods and alcohol. Also, exposure to the sun and heat can be aggravating factors.

Acne rosacea is not a life-threatening, but it certainly causes severe alterations in a person’s appearance which can lead to psychosomatic and emotional problems.

There are not many complications associated with acne rosacea. But one is inflammation of the eyelashes or outer surface of the eyes which can result in eye irritations. Also, though rare, the membrane covering the lens (cornea) can become inflamed leading to impaired vision.

How Acne Rosacea Is Treated

Topical and Oral Medication. There is no cure for rosacea since the exact cause of the disease is not known. Successful treatment is based on controlling the acne-like symptoms with the same topical and systemic medications used in treating regular acne.

The most effective treatment includes long term use of topical and oral antibiotics to control the eruptions. Tetracycline seems to be the antibiotic of choice. The dosages are slowly lowered, giving enough just to maintain control. The eventual goal is to be able to discontinue the antibiotic altogether without the rosacea pimples returning. Tetracycline is one of those drugs that should never be taken during pregnancy since it affects the unborn child.

Laser and Surgery. Laser treatment has been successful in eliminating the enlarged facial blood vessels. This is a treatment that causes very little discomfort. Also, surgery can be used to remove the excess tissue associated with rhinophyma.

The psychological and stress problems associated with acne rosacea should never be ignored because they can be very severe. A medical specialist may be required.
