By -, February 18, 2010 10:25 am

Are you trying to keep pimples from popping out all over your face? Have you been fighting acne for quite a while now? You’ll be glad to know medical science today is armed better than ever to help you fight your war against ugly pimples.

If acne has been plaguing you for a period of time, you probably also are concerned about scars on your face and perhaps other parts of your body as well. Once scars are there, they’re permanent.

Well, whether you just have continuous pimple outbreaks or you also have acne scars as an embarrassing record of your past battles with pimples — there is good news! One of the best treatments today to help you with both active pimples and permanent scars is laser therapy. And there are several different kinds of laser therapies available to you today. Some of these methods will help you to get rid of pimples and other laser methods are effective in reducing scars.

However, before rushing out and having just any kind of laser therapy done, you need to know what your options are. For example, which type of laser therapy is the right one for you personally? Do you want to stop acne in its tracks — or is acne in your past but you still have scars to show for it and you want to get rid of them?

Each type of acne laser therapy probably requires more than one treatment, so you need to know how many treatments you’ll need with the laser therapy of your choice. How much will the series of treatments cost?

Are there side effects that you need to know about before committing yourself to a series of laser treatments? Are any of these treatments painful? Are you a good candidate for each of the laser treatments?

Have you investigated and found out which of the techniques is the most current and the most effective?

If you have acne scars, how severe are they? That will determine what type of acne scar removal technique you will need to pursue.

Who should you choose to do the laser therapy of your choice? Only choose a doctor with extensive laser surgery experience and that is well recommended, so you are not taking unnecessary risks with your health and with your appearance.

If you have the financial means to explore acne laser treatment options, be sure to consider this effective means of getting rid of both pimples and permanent scars.

How to Avoid Acne Vulgaris and Pimples

By -, February 17, 2010 5:26 am

Acne Vulgaris is known as common acne. It is the inflammation of the sebaceous glands of the skin. It consists of red, raised areas of the skin that could develop into pustules and even further into cysts that cause scarring.

This condition occurs mostly on the face, neck, and back in most teenagers and young adults. Acne vulgaris and pimples results in over stimulation of the skin caused by androgens, but bacterial infection also plays a role in this condition.

Symptoms of acne vulgaris and pimples can be characterized by whiteheads and blackheads on the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. While most acne can be mild, it can also become severe causing scars.

Learning how to avoid acne vulgaris and pimples can really help change the overall appearance of the skin, and alleviate the pain, and scarring associated with this condition.

There are myths about things to avoid eating to help reduce acne breakouts but research has found that, for the most part, food does not play a role in the cause of acne. Doctors of natural medicine have, however, linked food allergies with the condition of acne.

Vitamins also can help you avoid acne vulgaris and pimples. In trial tests on acne, a topical application of four percent niacinamide gel was applied twice a day for two months. The result was significant improvement of those patients with acne. Further study has shown that taking this vitamin orally does not produce the same results. In yet another study, zinc was used as an oral-antibiotic and produced effective results in clearing up acne. Doctors suggested use of this mineral is to take 30mg, two to three times a day for a few months, then only 30mg once a day thereafter. It takes about twelve weeks for any improvement to show. When taking zinc long term, you must also add 1-2mg of copper to prevent copper deficiency. Taking large quantities of vitamin A also shown results. Suggested amount to be used was 300,000 IU for females, and 400,000-500,000 IU for males. It was further found with this method that once the vitamin A was discontinued, the acne returned.

Another method to help avoid acne vulgaris, and pimples was the use of herbs. Tonic herbs such as burdock has been shown in the use of skin conditions. This herb is known for it properties to have a cleansing action when taken orally. Other herbs that can be added to the burdock root to further the effectiveness include, yellow dock, red clover, and cleavers.

Another holistic approach is the use of acupuncture. Acupuncture is the use of tiny needles at certain strategic points on the body to focus energy to areas that need healing. Another useful means is a treatment called, cupping. Cupping is the use of cup-shaped instruments used to apply suction to the area in need of healing.

Lastly, another method that can be used in the avoidance of acne vulgaris and pimples is hypnosis. In one study, a patient was told to say the word, “scar” instead of picking at her face, and the scratch marks were resolved. This treatment, however had no effect on the underlying surface of the skin.

ACNE: Is It Easier to Treat than You Think it is?

By Tracy Cole, February 8, 2010 9:41 am

Do you know what the largest organ in your body is? It’s your skin! Your skin is a living, breathing organ that serves many functions. It’s helps to eliminate toxins (one of the main factors that contributes to acne!), it also regulates your body temperature (that’s why you sweat–air conditioning!), and it protects you from harmful invaders.

By working with your skin and not against it you pave the way to an enhanced healing of the skin. Your skin will look and feel better; it will become more even toned and vibrant.

Acne sufferers are subject to an onslaught of advice and commercials that are designed to manipulate your emotions and get you to buy the newest products. While some of them might produce good results, you’ll stand a far better chance of success if you avoid the following factors:

SMOKING: Smoking causes a whole raft of physical health problems and there’s really no GOOD reason to smoke. It causes cancer and heart disease and it causes your skin to get thinner, which reduces blood flow to the skin. Your skin needs blood flow to sweep away the impurities that are causing your acne. If you get nothing else from this article, STOP SMOKING.

Using Topical Steroids. Be careful when using cortisone-based medicines. They can make your skin thin and cause redness and irritation. Cortisone creams can produce wonderful results in the hands of a skilled physician, but be careful not to believe the claims of drug manufacturers. Cortisone masks symptoms, it doesn’t cure underlying CAUSES. Try tea tree oil diluted in water instead.

ANTIBIOTICS: Your body is host to billions of bacteria, some of them good and some of them not so good. You need a healthy population of bacteria like acidophilus in your digestive tract in order to digest your food. Antibiotics kill good bacteria as well as bad bacteria. “Good” bacteria protect you from parasites and bacteria. Antibiotics can cause stress and damage to your liver, so be careful to follow your doctor’s orders. If you take antibiotics at the advice of a doctor, eat acidophilus-containing foods like yogurt every day.

Four-In-One Razors: Four-in-one razor blades can irritate bumps and painful cysts. Blades that guarantee the “closest possible shave” can cause severe irritation and they can damage your skin. Always use a single blade when you have active acne. Love your skin. Give it a break.

Never use 4-in-1s, especially if you have bumps and cysts. They can lead to permanent scarring if used improperly and severe irritation, at the very least.

Popping your Pimples. If you feel anxious about your acne, you might feel compelled to squeeze your zits. Here’s a friendly word of advice: DON’T! If you pop your acne pustules you’ll do two things. A) drive the bacteria and pus deeper into the pore, and B) cause scars. While popping your acne may seem like a good thing to do right now, you’ll pay for it down the road: scars caused by squeezing acne “heads” NEVER go away. There are safe ways of extracting small whiteheads or blackheads but you would be wise to leave that to a skin care professional.

EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF VITAMIN A: Vitamin A from natural sources (green leafy vegetables and beta carotene fruit and veggies) and in small quantities can significantly enhance the healing process of your skin but when taken excessively it can seriously damage your liver and cause severe health problems and side effects.

Steroid Creams for Rosacea. Steroid creams can cause redness and swelling. Your rosacea can be very sensitive. Always consult a skin-care professional before using steroid creams on rosacea. Failure to do so may result in intense discomfort.

Acne can damage one’s self-image. In some ways, it can be worse than a more debilitating disease. Luckily, acne is not permanent and most cases can be resolved by making a number of minor lifestyle changes. No pill or potion can address the root causes of acne–that’s up to the individual–and no chemical “fix” will eliminate acne forever. By making a few lifestyle changes, you can get rid of your acne quickly, easily, and permanently.

Yes there really is a natural treatment for acne and zits. Before you spend another day suffering and before you spend another PENNY on acne medicines, visit TreatmentForAcneAndZits.com to discover how you can treat your acne naturally.

Acne and How You Can Win The Battle

By Kristy Longoria, January 9, 2010 3:22 pm

No one likes to have acne, it may be uncomfortable adn you may not like the way that you look if you are a victim of acne. Most of us will get acne when we are going through puberty, as some of us lucky ones wont.

When we are going through puberty, there is a lot of things going on with our bodies, and on top of all of this change having to deal with acne makes it that much more stressful. One way that we may be able to stop acne from forming, may be by changing our eating habits.

A large number of people feel that Acne is not really a disease or a result of the fact that we have more oils in our skin. There is a lot of thought that it actually comes about as a result of the toxins that we are constantly taking into our bodies through the things that we eat.

Instead of calling acne a disease in itself, it may actually be a warning sign that our body is giving us that we need to change some of the things that we are doing. One of the easiest ways for us to clear our skin, although it is going to take some work on your part is to cut out the junk that you have been eating and to go on and all raw food diet.

Consuming raw food consistently is going to do several different things to your body. First of all, raw food has a cleansing effect and it is going to help to clean your internal organs of some of the sludge and toxins that have been built up as a result of eating poorly.

Not only will this get rid of your acne quicker than any of those acne products that are advertised on television, but it will give you skin a great overall glow that was not there before.

So if you plan on trying the raw food diet, you can expect to see some productive results in as little as a couple of weeks. Just stick with it, and remember everyone’s body acts and recovers differently so the results will vary from person to person.

Getting Rid Of Zits Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated

By Arnold Waterborn, January 8, 2010 6:06 pm

You may have heard people claiming that you can get rid of zits quickly, in less than a week. But is there really a way to get rid of zits that quickly? Or is it just false claims and wishful thinking?

People like to believe in the easiest, fastest way to do something by putting in the least amount of effort. This tendency applies to getting rid of zits as well. People who have acne will look for the fastest, easiest way to get rid of their zits. Many times they will spend their money purchasing expensive cures that are completely useless.

Sometimes it seems that more and more people fall for quack cures only to discover they’ve actually made their condition worse. The truth is, however, that there really is no way to get rid of zits without any effort whatsoever. If you have any doubts, just ask anyone who suffers with pimples what kind of effort they put into gaining at least some relief from their problem.

It is not easy to achieve healthy, clear skin with no effort involved. If you want to be rid of your zits than there needs to be some work done on your end as well. People with clear skin do not necessarily just naturally have this type of skin condition.

Suppose you actually did ask someone. Odds are you’ll find that the answer is a lot of hard work.

If you are falling for the gimmick of getting rid of your zits quickly and easily, think about what you are doing. There are no acne cures that can achieve those kinds of results. You are going to have to put in the time and effort to eliminate your acne. Otherwise, you won’t be able to do it.

The trick is not hidden in over the counters, nor is it through prescription medication. The true way to cure your acne is through patience and continual effort.

Instead, the key is patience and persistence. Unfortunately, this is the best answer available, and it is totally up to you to find your own way to exercise that solution.
